SCEA
CFECT “Punta Prieta” Thermoelectric Power Plant. in La Paz, Baja California Sur Atmospheric Emissions Control System.
.
General description: SCEA Atmospheric Emissions Control System.
In order to solve the problems of Emissions to the atmosphere, due to the burning of fuel oil, and consequently the generation of Particulate, Opacity and SO3, it was necessary to use technologies that allowed to control emissions and that for the first time in Mexico would be used in an Integral way .
.
The main need is to control SO3, inside the Boiler, for which patented technology was used.
To consider this solution as a viable alternative in the control of emissions, it required an Experimental Evaluation (Guaranteed Values-Instituto Investigaciones Eléctricas), which were carried out successfully.
Concepts evaluated in a Baseline:
• Levels of Sulfur Trioxide (SO3),
• Total Suspended Particles
• Opacity
Recognitions: Award for Technological Development and Innovation
SCEA: Within the framework of the CFE's 13th Institutional Meeting on Quality and Competitiveness, held from November 26 to 28, 2007, the Coordination of Thermoelectric Projects was awarded the CFE 2007 Technological Development and Innovation Award, for carrying out of the Project: "Atmospheric Emissions Control System for the Punta Prieta CT, U1 to 3, in La Paz, BCS."

Aero condensers
The aero condenser is a heat exchanger used in power plants to condense the steam coming from the low pressure turbine discharge. For this, the steam is conducted through large Ducts and Pipes to the condensation panels. The cooling medium, in this case, is forced air, which, by means of fans, will pass through bundles of finned tubes that make up the panels.
