Indigenous Global Development LLC and GOGA was created in 2000 due to the real finding that, from national institutional bodies or international development cooperation agencies, multiple interventions are being carried out within the National Indigenous Government (in which it is located the largest indigenous territory in Mexico) and on behalf of the Indigenous Peoples without taking into account the participation and real needs of the native Mexican communities.

This circumstance is leading to a generalized interference in the indigenous territory and a negative impact on the survival of the communities since, on the one hand, most of the resources are not directed to the problems existing in the communities and, on the other, the peoples Indigenous people are being subjected to a process of strong acculturation and an accelerated loss of their own traditional knowledge.

.

The Indigenous Foundation was created due to the need to reverse the situation, in terms of empowerment and self-organizing capacity, although at present it is completely invisible, in the practical preservation of the indigenous ancestral way of life and in the intergenerational transmission of knowledge. traditional indigenous.

Indigenous Peoples at the United Nations

.

Indigenous peoples are heirs and practitioners of unique cultures and ways of relating to people and the environment. Indigenous peoples have retained social, cultural, economic and political characteristics that are different from those of the dominant societies in which they live. Despite their cultural differences, different groups of indigenous peoples around the world share common problems related to the protection of their rights as distinct peoples.

.

Indigenous peoples around the world have sought recognition of their identities, their ways of life and their right to traditional lands, territories and natural resources for years; however, throughout history, their rights have always been violated. Indigenous peoples are possibly one of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable groups of people in the world today. The international community now recognizes that special measures are required to protect the rights of the world's indigenous peoples.
